Sweden at play

As summer fades into fall this month, we’ll miss creative Swedish outdoor fun.

Giant chess drew an audience at Kungsträdgården every weekend. Kubb, aka Viking Chess, is also experiencing a local resurgence, based on the Saturday crowds at Rålis Park. And Zorb Football, a 2011 Norwegian invention, was even more entertaining to watch.

But it was hard to beat the kaninhoppning (rabbit show jumping) competition we stumbled on in Gripsholm. Founded in Sweden in the 1970s, the sport purports to be increasingly popular all over Scandinavia. Visiting friend Tim caught some footage:
